FAQs
What is RTT?
RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy™) is a life-changing and truly rapid form of transformational therapy developed by world-renowned therapist, Marisa Peer. RTT is a hybrid therapy embracing many of the most powerful aspects of hypnosis, hypnotherapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). With a focus on identifying and breaking free of the root cause of the issue, RTT very quickly achieves outstanding breakthroughs and lasting results. RTT helps people break unwanted habits, achieve extraordinary results in health, emotional well-being, relationships, business, performing arts, and sports.
How long does a session take?
Each session varies in length, depending on each individual’s needs. Typically, an RTT hypnosis session without coaching (see the different services I offer) takes from 90 mins to 2 hours, whereas a more comprehensive combined coaching and RTT session can take around 4 hours.
What does hypnosis feel like?
The experience can feel different for different people. Some people feel a floating feeling, others a grounded feeling. Some feel very sleepy, others not. Some will go very deeply in hypnosis and others will not go so deep. What is generally common for all is that it is a deeply relaxing, comforting and therapeutic feeling. However it feels for you, it works.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No. While in hypnosis you have complete control. You can hear, talk, move and make your own decisions. Also, particularly useful to know while in a video session, if for example the Zoom link should get disconnected, you may drift into sleep if you are very relaxed, but eventually you will notice that you don’t hear my voice and will naturally open your eyes.
How does hypnosis work?
It’s important to know that hypnosis is not magic. In fact, it is science. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a state of deep sleep. Hypnosis does however induce a relaxing trance-like state. When in this trance-like state, the patient is actually in a heightened state of awareness which focuses their attention and connection with the subconscious mind instead of the conscious mind. The subconscious mind is a powerful memory bank, where all our past experiences are distilled and stored and this is the part of us that informs our beliefs, feelings and habits. Therefore, the subconscious mind, not the conscious mind, is where we need to make change happen in order to change our beliefs, feelings and habits for the better.
What if I can’t be hypnotised?
Anyone can be hypnotised. In fact, we are often hypnotised without realising it. For example, when you are watching tv, or, when you are listening to comforting music or a calmly soothing voice and you zone out a bit and can’t remember what happened during the last few minutes of your movie or the talk. It’s helpful to be open to it and set an expectation with yourself that you want to be hypnotised and are looking forward to the amazing benefits it will bring you.
What if I already know what’s wrong?
Even if you know or think you know the reason behind your issue, being guided through hypnosis allows you to see and understand the root cause of the problem often in an entirely different way. This is what allows you to change the meaning and therefore to change your beliefs in a way that liberates you from the issue and builds an unshakeable confidence. Often, clients go back to scenes that are totally different to what they expected. Wherever or whenever you go back to, it will show you the missing context which enables you to finally move on with your life in the way you want to.
What if I regress back to a memory which was scary?
Sometimes, though certainly not always, the scenes or memories we regress back to may be traumatic. It’s important to remember that you are not reliving that scene. You are simply reviewing it and are completely safe. I will support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal. You will be ok.
When will I start to see or feel changes?
There are 3 ways people feel the transformation happen.
1. Immediate: You can feel a massive shift right away with immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviours during or at the end of the session.
2. Incremental: You can feel consistent, building shifts daily, weekly or gradually over time.
3. Retroactive: You may not see or feel shifts right away but then one day you suddenly look back and that things are different and dramatically shifted for the better.
What if I need another session?
RTT is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and create positive changes in your life. Generally, around 95% of clients will need only 1 session to achieve their objectives for any single issue (if they follow through with the post-session actions, eg. listening to their hypnosis recording). However, in the case of some issues, around 5% of clients may need up to 3 sessions. Other clients choose to do additional sessions or to begin a transformational coaching program with me to work on other areas of their life.
